The summer is here and the grill season is on. Kariniemi is a Finnish brand of chicken meat products and they opened a new campaign with a TV-Commercial that required a digital butterfly. Undo produced the needed shots in just two days, creating quality work on short notice.
PRODUCTION
We modeled and textured the butterfly using photo references as a starting point. A quick rig later it was ready for animation.
Since the footage was shot from a moving helicopter, we needed to track the camera movement accurately to insert the butterfly into the frame without it looking out of place. Matching grain and lens distortion were the final touches that helped to sell the small insect as real, or as real as a butterfly acting exactly as the director wants can be.
